What Is Dental Plaque?
Dental Plaque, What Is It?
Plaque is the beginning of gum disease complications. Plaque is a film that forms in the mouth as a result of germs and particles from the foods you eat on a daily basis.
Sweets transform plaque into a tooth-eating acid that lies just above the gum line after sugars are fed to it. If proper dental hygiene is not practiced, the acid will begin to eat away at the teeth, causing cavities, and the plaque will cause gum disease.
Allowing plaque to linger for an extended amount of time can lead to cavities, gingivitis, and other oral health issues. If you wait any longer, you may need major dental surgeries to repair your decayed smile.
